Displaying images
=================

The :class:`TaurusImageDialog` widget is a Taurus widget for displaying
**image** attributes from the control system. A contour plot is created from
the values of the image attribute.

Depending on the available tools, the image interface can provide features such
as:

- zooming and panning;
- X/Y cross sections;
- annotation tools for labels and shapes;
- adding and deleting images.

.. note:: :class:`TaurusImageDialog` is provided by the
          :mod:`taurus.qt.qtgui.extra_plotpy` module, which depends on
          :mod:`plotpy`. If plotpy is not installed, the image widget is not
          available.
